That out of the way, I grew up with and in this series. It meant a lot to me and still does. It’s a comforting place in a very scary world for me. I read critically, meaning I’m always open to listening to those affected by the flaws of it. I’ll readily point out stuff that is problematic to me personally. I don’t buy anything but used y2k merch and used legos/books. I don’t support official sites or even follow official WW social media.
I recommend HP and the Sacred Text for an LGBT+ friendly potter community, and a podcast that reads the books critically, while also treating them as texts to be learned from. They’ve been a saving grace as I wrestled with guilt and shame over still enjoying the books.
If HP bothers you, I’m sorry. If tumblr starts becoming more popular, I’ll try my best to tag posts I reblog, but mostly I’m on here to have a good laugh and read and talk fandom. So alot of times I’ll reblog stuff without considering tags. But I’ll try to remember as often as I can.

this is so nostalgic. tumblr rolls out something terrible. everyone complains. it breaks several people’s dashboards. for some reason it only rolls out to a few people at a time with seemingly no warning. the community collectively and immediately searches for a browser extension that undoes the change. i know we’ve all gotten burnt out on all social media sucking but this is genuinely The tumblr experience. everyone who hasn’t gotten it already gets an achievement. welcome to the club
Has either union called for a boycott? Because boycotting can disrupt their plans and make negotiations harder unless they’re actively asking for one. I’m boycotting reality TV (which every studio is going to be pushing because it’s the only content they can make cheaply and without writers or professional actors) but nothing else unless we are asked to.
This is correct. If anything, I want the execs to be terrified because the consumers are demanding more from them and they have nothing in their reserves to sell and no way of making anything else to sell.
Also “new” content is going to keep coming out for a while because it’s already been written and acted and edited. (I’d actually expect a lot of bad-but-finished movies that would normally never be released to get released once they start running out of the good stuff) There is less than no point to boycott anything right now.
1) Nobody in the unions has called for a boycott.
2) Boycotting takes away the residuals/initial payout due to the actors and writers right when they aren’t working.
3) Boycotting let’s the studios say “See? You aren’t valuable; nobody wants your labor” which is precisely the opposite of the message to be sent.
